This should be cool ride up River Rd past New Hope. I know of a few beer taps we could hit, and if you want to make this a two day trip, you can camp in Tinicum Park.

Jason McElroy will be giving another Tech Talk at 2WT tonight – 24 May 2011. Some of the things he’ll be discussing are listed below. Be there or be square!
Tech session will begin at 7:00 PM.
From Jason:
All,
My number’s up again for tonight’s tech night.
Ever bought a used motor or started to rebuild one and wondered whether you need new pistons? A bore job? A new cylinder?
We’re going to talk about how to evaluate the state of the parts you’ve got and identify what needs to be done without spending money unnecessarily. I’m not in the “replace everything” while you’re there camp. Especially given the superior metallurgy and machining standards of original parts on many vintage bikes.
I suggested previously that we might discuss cylinder head issues too, but think it will be best to cover less material and have more discussion. We’ll save cylinder head evaluation for another time.
Some things we’ll touch upon tonight:
- measuring or “mapping” out cylinder bore dimensions
- measuring piston diameter at the correct location. Did you know that pistons aren’t perfectly round/cylindrical?
- Visually inspecting cylinder walls for scuffing and scoring
- Visually inspecting the state of piston skirts to understand how motor was running when last together
- How to install piston rings and set piston ring end-gap
- How to use a bore gauge and a micrometer
Much of this talk will involve actual parts and audience volunteers, so we’re gonna need a clear table.
See you then.

If you want to get your hands on these, either come to RIDE TO SKATE or you can get whatever’s left over at our Thursday night rides. These prints are produced in the bowels of Kensington using shirts made right here in the USA — none of that Chinese cheap labor bullshit!
Ride to Skate coincides with the Apocalypse this year, so make the final adjustments on your bike and ride through the fire and brimstone. Special appearances include Jesus, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Freak Out The Squares, Death Science, Lowside, Hated Of The World and many more add to the long list of sponsors this year — including us. Yes, Chin on the Tank are official sponsors and I’ve been working long hours to create us new gear.

Friday this shit kicks off at Kung Fu Necktie under the front street el. Afterward I have new screens burnt for jackets, if anyone wants to stop over and get their leather painted.
Saturday Doomsday meet up at the Lukoil at the corner of Delaware and Spring Garden at 9:30am. Leave at 10am for the ride down to FDR park. At noon RTS becomes mobile and cruises down to Lansdowne Skatepark in Baltimore. We’re getting shitfaced and grabbing up motel rooms. Those of you who don’t want to venture to Baltimore can do your own thing after FDR.
If there is a Sunday, we can play it by ear and shoot back to Philly.
