So I was working on the engine today and finally got the head on and valves adjusted. Just a few more minor things until I drop her back in the frame. Slowly but surely. I could still use some extra hands when you guys are free. I hoping to have a rolling cycle in the next week or two….

So I picked up the Norton engine today!! Im totally stoked to get it all back together, but I was hoping to maybe get an extra pair of hands on Tuesday afternoon to help out. Let me know if any of you are available. The barrels were honed, bead blasted, primed and painted. The head was bead blasted and had complete valve job done. Pistons were cleaned up and I put brand spanking new rings on them. Its time for her to be one again. I also got a Hastings piston ring book… so if anyone needs rings let me know and I can look up the part number to order it directly from Hastings…. Every engine imaginable is in the book.

So as most of you guys know I got the Norton frame back from the powder coater. I started to take the head off the engine tonight but there are a few bolts that dont want to budge, so I soaked them with PB Blaster and will let them sit for a few days. Once I get the head and barrels pulled they are off to the engine guy to media blast and hone. After that Im going to repaint the barrels and start putting everything back together!!! I cant wait.

The Ducati has been out of commission due to the fact that I sheared two socket cap screw in the clutch basket that retain the clutch springs. The first one because I found in the manual it says 30NM-33NM. Then the Ferracci service manager told me the torx setting was definately 33NM. So I sheared another one at about 10NM. Its supposed to be 6NM. Haha FML. So now im just waiting on 6 (Im sure they are gonna be $20 a piece) socket cap screws from Italy like an idiot  when I know I could have picked them up locally. Again fuck me, but he ordered them before I could say no and I have to be nice because he is the only person in the area that will give me a new free gas tank.

I figured you guys would like to see this. This is from the late 70′s when my pops first brought his Norton back from the U.K. and Paris. His buddy Chuck (www.charlesphoto.com) snapped this who is now a professional photographer.
