I’ve been making some steady progress with the KZ. Mostly in part to getting some lift time in the Somerset garage to work on it.
Maintenance Items
- Oil change and filter
- Avon Road Rider tires
- D.I.D 530VX X-ring chain 112 links
- 530 JT sprocket conversion
- Flushed brake fluids
- front: 100/90-19
- 120/80-18
- front: 18 Tooth part# JTF513
- rear: 42 Tooth part#JTR488
Replaced Missing or Damaged Parts
- Oil filter washer
- Oil drain plug
- Headlight
- Grab rail
- Seat hook
New Upgrades
- ZRX handlebars
- ZRX front brake master cylinder
- Z1 Enterprises slim seat with strap
- Emgo superbike grips
- KZ1000 LTD front fender
- Progressive rear shocks
- Black gauge covers
- Regulator/rectifier unit
The bike runs like shit because the intake cam was off a tooth. When correcting it I found the cam journals to be out of place and partially blocking the oil port… not cool. It appears this caused some scoring on the cams unfortunately. Reassembled correctly and hopefully it’s all good for now.
