Suzuki RE-5 – Rotary Engine

I’ve always been obsessed with wankel rotary engines. Such a cool alternative to a piston engine.

My best buddy kev’s dad had a 3rd gen 1994 rx7 twin turbo.
Holy shit I still droll over that car.
In high school, Kev used to steal it and take it out when his dad was out of town. I still remember ripping around in it listening to the new kid-rock album in like 1998, ha.

Anyway…
This Suzuki Re-5 is pretty badass. The only other rotary motorcycle was a Norton that didn’t sell well. I first learned about the Suzuki a few months ago, because our friend Chance has one in non-running condition.

I love these old videos. They’re so freaking cool.
Honestly, this video does a great job of explaining how a rotary engine works. If you don’t know anything about them, they’re basically a triangle spinning in an oval making power.
