The Country Mile Race

I unfortunately had not heard of this race until the week or so before it. I think we should plan on this for next year. There is about 15 of us on old dirt bikes now and this is only 3 hours from Philly. What do you guys think? Enter the Open Amateur or Open Vintage class depending the cc of your 2-stroke?

Anyone have any more information or pictures from the races this year? How many people are usually registered in each class? Would like to hear some first hand info about the races if anyone knows somebody involved.

From Erik Green at Works Engineering in Brooklyn NY

“The event is run at Oakland Valley Raceway Park aka OVRP. Pretty rednecky just the way we like it. There’s a big grassy field where everyone sets up surrounded by lots of trees and mountains. Idyllic and trashy all at once.

There’s the old timers that have broken every bone in their body and the up and coming youngsters getting in a little extra practice. Quite a few girls competing as well including a few that are running competitively on modern bikes. There’s a few” Benny Hill” categories too so you’ll see a mid-60’s Honda S90 running against a modem street bike on slicks. If you have a small displacement bike bring it and have some fun.

Heck, bring any bike and have some fun. Just be prepared for battle scars. “
