Biltwell Hustler Helmet
The Biltwell Hustler Helmet (DOT) is fairly new to the market and as I was looking for an inexpensive (DOT-approved) silver open face helmet, a titanium Hustler found a spot on the shelf in my garage. They are currently selling three colours……flat titanium, which is like a medium silver and flat black (both shown below). They also have a flat copper colour, which looks like burnt orange. I haven’t worn this helmet on a ride yet, but it feels pretty much like my Fulmer V2, although they’re sized differently.
My Fulmer is a LARGE, while the Biltwell is a MEDIUM.
I paid $99, so it’s comparable in price to the Fulmer as well. I bought mine from Low Brow Customs, but you can purchase directly from Biltwell Inc. and probably any other bike shop selling that brand. Lowbrow Customs has a fairly informative FAQ about the Hustler including weight & size comparisons with the Biltwell Novelty, Bell 500 and Fulmer V2 helmets, which helped in deciding what size I needed. Yep – riding dirt bikes is still super fun. The IT250 still does almost everything great. Street ride over the bridge to get to trails. Rips pretty awesome in the dirt for its age. Then street ride home with some little highway. Can’t beat it. Tyler is an animal.
Damn, those helmets look good. I actually like their look better than the Fulmer V2. The Bell 500 is another good one which is DOT.

I can’t get into non full faced helmets, those things look pretty legit though.
The orange one would match my 350 perfectly.
The orange one looks great, but loses all it’s magic in B&W, so didn’t post a photo.
Im interested to see the flat titanium in person. I dig it.

yea that’d be rad. I’ve been bummed that I haven’t been able to make it out to 2wheel lately cause of work but i should be there next week.

I was checking those out a little while ago. I didn’t realize that they made a DOT approved helmet. Biltwell makes some pretty legit stuff (the sportster’s 1″ clubmans are by biltwell). I can’t rock the brain-bucket style helmet, but they’re definitely cool looking!
