Riding the Lightning

My inspiration to do a proper track day started when I realized that 2020 and 2021 would be years without a whole lot of big traveling or other new ventures. So loose plans were set in motion to do a track day on my modern beginner sport bike, a 2015 Yamaha R3. Brad acquired […]

August Montana – from Kendra

Disclaimer: Some of this post might not be about motorcycles, but I’ll do my best. The self-appointed CEO of COTT won’t allow if it’s not moto content. If the Harley Roadking is a La-Z-Boy, the XR seat is a broken lawn chair. But it’s really fun so it’s a fair trade off. Roadking is for […]

Lords of Dirt – Flat Track

Missoula flat track event called Lords of Dirt. Real fun. Local guy won the pro event. After the event, Adam and I go out to where we had parked the XR’s on the street, and someone was fucking with us, and put a big bicycle lock around both our handlebars. WTF. But then we realized […]

Trailboss to Roadking – day 7

Butte to Missoula. Did an easy ride to Missoula. Week trip is over. Stopped by Colins shop. Dropped off the Harley rental. Got the XR’s back on the road after a year of sitting. Week overview: – 1600 miles – 5 states – 4 National parks – 2 state parks – 0 key lime pie […]

Trailboss to Roadking – day 6

N of Salt Lake to Butte. Well, we made it to Montana. Long day of ripping highway. Caught a little rain but not bad. Didn’t really get wet. Stopped in Dillon MT which is a little cowboy town Adam, Colin and I were in last August. Went into a cowboy store and met Aaron Buckley […]

Vegas to Montana – from Kendra

Ed hates everything about Vegas, except Fat Tuesday Pina Colada. After 2 hours at Eagle Rider Ed finally got the insurance so we could leave. He is also the proud owner of a new Harley cut off. The drive through Zion was incredible. Exceeded all expectations. Grand Canyon was surprisingly underwhelming compared to everything else. […]

Trailboss to Roadking – day 5

Capitol Reef to Great Salt Lake. Entire trip has been great on the best back roads, but now we’re near Salt Lake it’s highway the rest of the way to Missoula. The Harley really eats up highway. 80mph / 6th gear / 3000rpm. Pretty mellow cruising. Skipped downtown Salt Lake City and decided to spend […]

Trailboss to Roadking – day 4

Bryce Canyon to Capitol Reef. Capitol Reef national park was a nice surprise. Great colors. The Harley has developed a weird hesitation once in a while which I’m guessing is due to rapid elevation changes and the sensor that picks that shit up to tell the EFI what to do is getting confused. I dunno. […]

Trailboss to Roadking – day 3

North Rim to Bryce Canyon. Saw a ton of deer, kinda sketchy. Harley transmission is way too notchy and really annoying. Met older guy in a diner who was on same Harley as mine. We talked and he said he bought a z1 brand new when he was 16, before I ever mentioned anything about […]

Trailboss to Roadking – day 2

Zion to North Rim. Such great roads to the Grand Canyon. Zion was insane. Really happy we started in Vegas instead of Denver. My back is holding so far so happy about that. The bike is still working out great. I’m really enjoying it. It’s smoother than I anticipated. I get it. I get why […]

Over the bridge & through the Pines to LBI we go

This past weekend I got in on the beach ride through the Pines trip. Sadly, this is my last official ride with the guys as a Philadelphian since my Fiance and I are escaping the urban nightmare that is Philly very soon.  The day started out with Brain, Will, Dana, Steve, and I meeting at […]

Trailboss to Roadking – day 1

Vegas to Zion national park. I’m spending the month of August in Montana again. Figured I’d do a fun little week MC trip with the lady on the way out to MT. I considered a week trip from Denver to MT but then thought Vegas to MT had more scenic stuff and national parks. So […]

2021 – cb450 rebuild

ok… so I rebuilt this bike again. Hopefully for the last time. I’m making this post to help anyone in the future. 2013 Recap Back in 2013 I had the idea to build a hotrod / high compression cb450. I don’t know why I had this idea. I was bored and wanted to play around […]

Pine Barrens Enduro Sunday

Probably the last nice sunny weather day in all of 2020. Ironically, we did almost the same Pine Barrens sunny ride exactly a year ago. Will bought a newish crf250-rally which seemed to rip really well. We did a little more than 60 miles which was more than normal. Followed one of Mike Ashleighs routes.

Someday you’ll own a Yamaha

Man, I still think the Yamaha IT is the best. Light enough to do all the tight nimble stuff you want. Powerful enough to keep up with modern dirt bikes. Can be pretty easily street legal. Can pretty much do it all except extended highway, def can’t do that. Can’t get enough of these old […]

Montana single-track still-frame

On our week long off-road trip, Adam shot some GoPro still-frame video footage from the tight single track we did. Pretty sure it catches me taking a spill somewhere. Also, some random BMX videos I dug up from early-mid 2000’s. Good stuff.

Dirt bike – Lake Atsion, Pine Barrens

This past weekend we went dirt biking at Lake Atsion, NJ which is in the Pine Barrens. In case you didn’t know, you can legally ride dirt bikes in the pine barrens IF your bike is street legal / registered / insured. If you’re driving a truck, park at the Atsion ranger station. It’s okay […]
