Cycle Mechanics | Yamaha 125/175 Hop-Up

I love the old performance modification articles. This guy Don Vesco looks like the man and apparently knows his shit when it comes to modifying 2-stroke bikes. If anyone reading this has any old enduro/dirt bike magazines from the 60’s or 70’s they want to sell, i’m interested.

Isle of Man Video

Watch this video. It’s pretty good. One of the reasons I liked the vid so much is because it has the music from the opening credits of one of my favorite tv shows. Blue Mountain State on Netflix. It’s pretty much amazing. See vid below.

Buy a brand new motorcycle

Yea, I know old motorcycles are cool. Unfortunately not everyone should own an old shitty bike. If you plan on buying a vintage bike be prepared for: – becoming a full time mechanic – your girlfriend to become annoyed regardless of if she admits it – something on the bike to break once a month […]

Winter Sucks

I dont know about you, but I hate Winter. Sure we can work on our bikes, drink beer, and watch movies….but if I had my ‘druthers, I’d druther do it all outside on a motorcycle. So I find myself sitting inside watching the snow fall and watching motorcycle videos. Thought you Ladies might get a […]

Tomorrow | True Hand Makers Night

Recently I’ve start working with a good friend of mine, Mike Ski, over at his Tattoo studio, True Hand. We’re hoping to do a ton of interesting stuff outside the world of tattoos & design. So in the spirit of hitting the ground rolling we’re doing our first makers night tomorrow featuring handmade goods by Farmhaus & Institute […]

Philly hates motorcycles

It’s full on fucking war with this broke-ass, motorcycle-hating city. As some of you may know, the PPA has begun enforcing motorcycle and scooter parking on the sidewalk, citywide! This means the old ways are dead and we have to bookend our bikes in between cars, take up a whole car space (which is totally […]

Renegade Camping

I’m not sure where the phrase ‘renegade camping’ came from or even anyone else uses it, but among some of our friends we use it to describe camping for free. Traveling anywhere other than the east coast has made these kind of spots easy to find but I haven’t had a good go-to spot near […]

E-ZPass tickets

Help me out here… Comment and let me know if anyone has any clue if easy pass changed. You used to be able to follow a car through easy pass and if you were real tight on the cars bumper… Easy pass would count you as part of the car and you’d be all set. […]

Riders | Italian Motorcycle Magazine

I’ve recently had a bunch of guys from Italy buying the vintage AO safety glasses that we sell at Cast & Salvage. I was interested how people found out about our stuff so I asked a few people that bought the glasses and they sent me this snippet from a Italian motorcycle magazine called Riders.

Rulers’ Run

Every year towards late August a handful of rare souls converge together to wreak havoc on the streets of Brooklyn, like some horrid natural phenomenon emerging from the sea to consume an entire city. The sheer anticipation of the solid one-night rumble attached to your motorcycle, surrounded by the sharpest cavalcade of your most trusted […]

Winter blowout at Chopsaw Garage …

Hey guys, I’ve been busy and cold, how about you? I’ve got a new bike in the garage that I (unfortunately) have to let go. It’s really sweet and I hate that I have to get rid of it.  However, I’d rather see someone I know end up with it rather than some craigslist rando. […]

Motorcyclepedia Museum

While I was out of town over the holidays visiting family, I took some time to head over to Newburgh NY and check out the relatively new Motorcylepedia museum that opened up there. I gotta admit, this place is kind of amazing. There is currently a Vintage Japanese bike exhibit that should be up through […]

Sunday Sissy – XS650 progress

I spent most of Sunday with a can of MAPP gas, some welding gloves and a cut off wheel and came up with this. Obviously the welds need to be cleaned up, plus the clamps need some washers. I learned a lot about bending steel and what you can and cant get away with. It’s […]
